The Sanilac County Community Foundation announce that Brook Frantz*, Samantha Ploep, and Matthew Warren, graduates of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School have been selected as the 2017 recipients of the Eleanor M. Bowman Scholarship Fund.
Samantha Ploep is the daughter of Linda and Reinhold Ploep. She plans to attend the University of Michigan to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Technology. Samantha participated in Girls Varsity Bowling, English academic track, Varsity softball, the student council, the theatre program as well as the President of National Honor Society at Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School. She was also awarded the title of Senior Scholar at graduation.
Matthew Warren Jr. plans to attend Alma College to major in Psychology. He was on the football team, number 75, defensive tackle. Matthew played football, baseball, track, basketball, and bowling. He was also in Theatre for two years and is a member of the International Thespian Society. Matthew’s parents are Matt and Rachel Warren.
Eligible applicants for the Eleanor M. Bowman scholarship must be graduating seniors of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School who are in need of financial assistance to attend college in the field of music or music education. If there are no graduating students entering the field of music or music education, the scholarship may then be given to a graduating student(s) with need of financial assistance.
