The Sanilac County Community Foundation (SCCF) is pleased to announce that $31,453.60 in combined grants were given to the following organizations during the 2026 Spring Grant Round.
Brown City Area Chamber of Commerce – Summer Recreation – Field Infrastructure Improvement: Dugout Upgrades – $5,578.60
City of Sandusky Recreation Department – Sandusky Recreation-Outdoor Grill $800.00
Carsonville-Port Sanilac Schools – Youth Summer Sport Camp $1,500.00
Sandusky Community Schools – Backstop and Seating Renovations at Albrecht Field $1,500.00
City of Croswell – P L Graham Park Improvements $1,500.00
Delta Kappa Gamma International Beta Tau – Sanilac County Chapter – Books for Sanilac County Youth for the Baby Pantry and the Harvest Hop Event $1,500.00
Croswell-Lexington High School – Portable AED’s $2,000.00
Sandusky Arts Council – 2026 Lawnchair Music Series $2,500.00
Port Sanilac Blues Festival – Port Sanilac Blues Festival $2,500.00
Sanilac Area Violence Elimination Council – Security Cameras for Eva’s Place $2,575.00
Village of Minden – Minden City Lions Club – Hounds Playground $4,500.00
Sanilac Intermediate School District – Sanilac RX Kids $5,000.00
“New this year, the Community Foundation is excited to launch two community grantmaking funds designed to increase unrestricted grantmaking across Sanilac County. Each year, we receive significantly more grant requests than we have available to award. For example, the 2026 Spring Grant Round received more than $243,000 in requests. Even after removing the largest request, we still received more than $140,000 in requests from over 30 applicants.
These new collaborative funds will provide a home for smaller, named funds. Donors and community members will no longer need to meet a high minimum to establish an endowed fund that carries a personal or family legacy. Instead, they can create a named ‘Fund for the Community’ within either the Community Grantmaking Fund or the Youth Grantmaking Fund.
Both funds will be overseen by the Community Foundation. Grants from the Youth Grantmaking Fund will be directed by local high school students serving on our Youth Advisory Council, providing them with meaningful, real-world experience in philanthropy and grantmaking.”

• The Community Grantmaking Fund is intended to provide unrestricted grantmaking opportunities to nonprofits serving Sanilac County and is made possible by the following endowed funds:
o The Community Endowment Fund: the first SCCF unrestricted grantmaking fund made up by many small and large donations from the greater Sanilac community. This fund stands for the core of philanthropic involvement in Sanilac County.
o The Replogle Fund for the Community: the first SCCF Fund for the Community was created in memory of David Replogle. Dave was a retired Ford Motor Company engineer who was born in Detroit and later resided in Port Sanilac. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and community engagement. He could often be found sailing with Marjorie, his wife of 50 years.
• The Youth Grantmaking Fund is intended to provide unrestricted grantmaking opportunities to nonprofits serving youth in Sanilac County and is made possible by the following endowed funds:
o The Youth – Kellogg Fund: the reason SCCF was created. Created through the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s 1990s matching initiative, the Community Foundation was established to capture grantmaking dollars generously given by the Kellogg Foundation specifically to be used to create a permanent resource for youth-led grantmaking.
o The Replogle Fund for the Youth: the first SCCF Fund for the Youth was created in memory of David Replogle, inspired by his daughter Amy. The fund aims to provide opportunities to the young people of Sanilac County in memory of Dave’s connection with Port Sanilac.
