The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Michael Jasso, Brendan Porter, and Violet Johnson, graduates of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School are the 2023 recipients of the Eleanor M. Bowman Scholarship.

Michael Jasso’s parents are Tabitha and Michael Jasso. During high school, he was a part of the basketball, football, track, and powerlifting teams. Michael plans to attend Delta College to become a physical therapist assistant.

 

 

 

Brendan Porter’s parents are Todd Porter and Karie Stone. Throughout high school, he attended many extracurriculars including basketball, football, track, and powerlifting. Brendan plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University to pursue a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.

 

 

 

Violet Johnson is the daughter of Brian Johnson and Alicia Klickner. During high school, she was involved in volleyball, basketball, powerlifting, softball, track and field, and was in student council. Violet plans to attend Delta Community College to get an associate degree in Science then continue to transfer to a University to get a bachelors in Dietetics or Nutrition.

 

 

 

Eligible applicants for the Eleanor M. Bowman scholarship must be graduating seniors of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School who are in need of financial assistance to attend college in the field of music or music education. If there are no graduating students entering the field of music or music education, the scholarship may then be given to a graduating student(s) with need of financial assistance.
