Today, The Community Foundation is proud to announce “Give Where You Live 2021” — an exciting online giving event taking place on May 21, 2021, that will empower the people of Sanilac County and the surrounding areas to come together and raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits in just 24 hours. The Community Foundation and local community partners have collectively committed over $50,000 to fund a grant pool of incentives for participating organizations, and the incentive pool is still growing!
The event begins at GiveWhereYouLive2021.org at 12 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 and ends at midnight of the same day. During these hours, every unique donor who gives to a local nonprofit will be counted towards the organization’s tally. Every donation will receive a portion of matching funds. The more unique donors an organization gets, the more likely that nonprofit is to receive one of the many bonus gifts and matching funds awarded throughout the day!
“Our goal with Give Where You Live is to help local Sanilac County nonprofit organizations “restart” after a challenging year. Instead of just handing out grant dollars we want to empower nonprofits and the community as a whole to connect and support one another on a greater level,” said Melissa Anderson, Executive Director of the Sanilac County Community Foundation. “There are so many exciting components to this day including nonprofit awareness, volunteerism, community strength, not to mention harnessing the power of giving!”
To be eligible to participate in Give Where You Live 2021, a nonprofit must register at www.givewhereyoulive2021.org no later than March 1, 2021.
