The Sanilac County Community Foundation, on behalf of the Farr family, is pleased to announce that the recipient of the Corey William Farr Scholarship is Selena Torrez.
Selena is a graduate of Croswell – Lexington High School. During high school she took various art classes both dealing with digital art, such as yearbook for two years and also desktop publishing. She has also taken various drawn art classes. By taking these courses, it helped her become an open-minded person and seeing things in different perspectives. Selena is a teammate of the Cros-Lex Powerlifting Club and which this past year received their seventh straight State Championship title.
Selena is the daughter of Pauline and Lupe Torrez of Croswell. This fall she plans to attend St. Clair County Community College to pursue a degree in Graphic Design with the intent to transfer to a University after two years.
The scholarship was established in 2017 by Corey’s Family. This scholarship is intended for a graduating Croswell-Lexington Senior. Preference shall be given to those maintaining C or better grade point average, involved in soccer, baseball, or hockey, scholastic potential, community service, and financial need may also be considered.
