The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Violet Johnson, graduate of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School is one of the 2023 recipients of the Edward and Amelia Falls Scholarship.
Violet Johnson is the daughter of Brian Johnson and Alicia Klickner. During high school, she was involved in volleyball, basketball, powerlifting, softball, track and field, and was in student council. Violet plans to attend Delta Community College to get an associate degree in Science then continue to transfer to a University to get a bachelors in Dietetics or Nutrition.
The Edward & Amelia Falls Scholarship was established by Philomena Falls, a prominent Lexington resident since 1971 who passed away in 2008 at the age of 99. She was a strong supporter of public education, having spent more than forty one years in elementary education in the United States, Germany and Japan. After her retirement, she demonstrated her commitment to the education of Sanilac County residents through her leadership on the Moore Public Library Board in Lexington from 1972 until 1999.
Eligible applicants for the annual scholarship must be graduating seniors Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School.
