The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Stephanie Cahoon, graduate from Carsonville-Port Sanilac School is the 2021 recipient of the Daniel James Brabant Scholarship.
Stephanie is the daughter of Charlie Cahoon and the late Kathy Cahoon. She graduated cum laude, one of Carsonville Port Sanilac’s senior scholars. Stephanie will be attending Central Michigan University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. During high school she participated in cross country, track, basketball, volleyball, science academics, theatre 13, National Honor Society, and FFA. Stephanie is the current school record holder in the 800, 1600, and 5000 meter events. Additionally, she earned NCTL conference honors in track, basketball, and cross country throughout her athletic career.
This scholarship has been created to commemorate the life of Daniel James Brabant. Dan was a graduate from Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School. He graduated with Honors from Michigan State University with a degree in Business and Economics and was an avid bow hunter, weight lifter, and Michigan State Fan.
