Community Foundation to Give Away $25,000 Endowment through the 25k for 25 Campaign
Unique Giving Challenge Where One Local Nonprofit Will Receive a $25,000 Endowment Fund

Today, the Sanilac County Community Foundation (SCCF) is proud to announce the 25k for 25 campaign — an exciting online giving event that will empower the people of Sanilac County to come together and raise as much money as possible for their favorite local nonprofits. One of those nonprofits will receive a $25,000 permanent endowment!

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Sanilac County Community Foundation, the board of trustees has committed $25,000 to fund a new, or existing, endowment for one of the participating nonprofit organizations. “There is no greater way to celebrate 25 years of endowed philanthropy than to give away an endowment!” said Melissa Anderson, Executive Director of the SCCF. “Endowments like this can provide a permanent source of funding and support for the causes we as a county believe in.”

Nonprofits from around the county will sign up to participate and use our online fundraising software. They will fundraise for THEIR organization for the entirety of our “birthday” month, May 1 – 31, 2019. At midnight on the 31st fundraising will stop and the 3 organizations who have raised the most funds will be given the opportunity to give a 3-minute presentation at the Anniversary Celebration. This is where it gets interesting…

Every person in attendance at the Anniversary Celebration will then be given the ability to vote on which one of the 3 organizations will be given a $25,000 permanent endowment at the Foundation.  “Our goal with the 25k for 25 campaign is to empower local nonprofits to connect with their donors and show them how powerful endowed philanthropy can be,” said Anderson.

         To be eligible for the 25k for 25 campaign, a nonprofit must attend one of two informational seminars and register with the Foundation. Informational Seminars will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019 – 4:00 p.m. at Liberty Lanes and Friday, April 19, 2019 – 4:00 p.m. at Liberty Lanes.
