The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Eva Thompson, Devon Chisholm, Morgan Stillson, Mary Carver and Addyson Sharpe as the 2025 recipients of the Wixson Scholarship.
Eva Thompson, daughter of Brenda and James Thompson, graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School. During high school, she was a member of the cross country, track and field, and soccer teams. Eva is attending Central Michigan University, where she is studying Biology and continuing her athletic career on their cross country and track teams.
Devon Chisholm, son of Greg and Annette Chisholm, graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School. During high school, he participated in cross country, track and field, powerlifting, and tennis. After experiencing the benefits of physical therapy during his own recovery, he was inspired to help others in the same way. Devon is attending Grand Valley State University, pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy. He is grateful to his parents for their constant support and encouragement in his journey to helping others.
Morgan Stillson, daughter of Kevin and Amie Stillson, is a graduate of Croswell-Lexington High School. During high school she spent most of her time with her theatre company Cros-Lex Theatre Co., receiving many awards and holding the positions of Vice President, Student Director and helping teach vocals during her senior year. Morgan is attending Eastern Michigan University to double major in Musical Theatre as well as Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavioral Analysis.
Mary Carver, daughter of Marlo Ellis, is a graduate of Croswell-Lexington High School and credits her mom as her biggest source of support throughout her life. Mary participated in band for a total of seven years, including four years in the high school marching band as a percussionist and tenor drum player. She loved every moment of her band experience and the memories it created and is excited to continue her involvement in band in college. Mary is attending Saginaw Valley State University, where she is majoring in Business Management with a minor in Entrepreneurship.
Addyson Sharpe, daughter of Kristen Sharpe—her biggest supporter and best friend, graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School. During high school, her favorite subjects were English and Writing. She also participated in both sideline and competitive cheerleading, earning two state titles. Addyson is attending St. Clair Community College, planning to study criminology with the goal of earning a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Psychology.
The Wixson Scholarship was established by brother and sister, Harold and Sylvia Wixson, to support graduating Croswell- Lexington High School seniors in pursuing higher education. They were especially passionate about helping students who show strong potential and dedication but may not always be recognized through traditional academic awards. Their legacy continues by uplifting capable, hardworking students who are ready to take the next step in their educational journey.
