The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Alexis Clapsaddle as the 2025 recipient of the Terry and Jackie Reid Scholarship.
Alexis Clapsaddle, daughter of Ron and Sarah Clapsaddle, is a graduate of Marlette High School. During high school, she was actively involved in Student Council, volleyball, soccer, cross country, and track and field. Alexis is attending Saginaw Valley State University, where she plans to earn her bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She hopes to work as a registered nurse before returning to school to obtain her master’s degree, with the long-term goal of becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in a pediatric-focused clinic. She is excited about the opportunities ahead.
The Terry and Jackie Reid Scholarship was established as a tribute to the Reid Family for their significant and positive influence on students across the Thumb. Terry Reid was a long-time basketball coach, teacher, and athletics administrator at Marlette Community Schools. The Reid Family is also deeply involved in programs administered by Heaven Sent Ministries and the First United Methodist Church. In addition to the meaningful impact the Reid Family has made on the community, this scholarship honors their grandson, Kyle Hall, who passed in July 2011, just weeks after graduating. The Terry and Jacki Reid Scholarship is available to graduating seniors at Marlette High School who embody the best qualities of a student athlete, much like Kyle was. Candidates must be student-athletes in good standing during at least their junior and senior years and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater. Preference given to students planning to major in Education in college.
This scholarship is administered through the Sanilac County Community Foundation (SCCF). For more information on scholarship opportunities, visit www.SanilacFoundation.org or contact the Community Foundation office at 810-648-3634.
