The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Guy Curtis Phillips as one of the 2024 recipients of the MVP Disc Sports Manufacturing Innovation Scholarship.

Guy Curtis Phillips is the son of Chris and Irene Phillips and a graduate of Deckerville High School graduating as the Valedictorian. Guy was a member of National Honor Society and the Quiz Bowl Team. He played percussion in the high school band, was on the robotics team and the SC4 /Baja Team. He completed his Michigan Transfer Agreement through SC4 and is transferring those credits to Saginaw Valley State University where he is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

The MVP Disc Sports Manufacturing Innovation Scholarship was established to help graduates pursuing a higher education in skilled trades. As a manufacturing company, MVP Disc Sports feels there is a growing shortage of technical skills and that it is important to revitalize these skills so that we are able to remain competitive in the global manufacturing market.

This scholarship is administered through the Sanilac County Community Foundation (SCCF). For more information on scholarship opportunities through the Sanilac County Community Foundation, contact the Community Foundation office at 810-648-3634.
