The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Chloe DeLong, graduate of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School is one of the 2023 recipients of the Edward and Amelia Falls Scholarship.
“My name is Chloe DeLong, parents are Rachel and David DeLong. While attending CPS high school I was involved in varsity volleyball, softball, cheer, and track and field. I was class president, student council president, NHS secretary, captain of the English academics team, and a thespian of troop 2173. This Fall I will be attending Northern Michigan University to study Biology with Pre-Med concentration in hopes of becoming doctor in the future. “
The Edward & Amelia Falls Scholarship was established by Philomena Falls, a prominent Lexington resident since 1971 who passed away in 2008 at the age of 99. She was a strong supporter of public education, having spent more than forty one years in elementary education in the United States, Germany and Japan. After her retirement, she demonstrated her commitment to the education of Sanilac County residents through her leadership on the Moore Public Library Board in Lexington from 1972 until 1999.
Eligible applicants for the annual scholarship must be graduating seniors Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School.
