The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that the William and Verna Wark Family Scholarship recipient is Kimberly Murray.
“My name is Kimberly Murray and I am the daughter of Victor and Rochelle Murray. In high school I enjoyed participating in volleyball, dual enrollment, band, theater, Youth Advisory Council, National Honor Society, and student council. During my high school years I held the position of President of Student council and secretary for National Honor Society. I am honored and thankful to say I was a part of these activities as they helped me build many skills such as team building and leadership. These activities inspired me to plan on attending St. Clair Community College to gain my general education.”
This scholarship was created in memory of William and Verna Wark by their daughter Rhea Currie. Rhea attended and graduated from Peck Schools. The scholarship is to be awarded to a student that best represents the values that William and Verna were known for, such as community involvement, resilient relationships with their family and friends, a strong work ethic, and a love of reading and learning.
This scholarship is administered through the Sanilac County Community Foundation. For more information on scholarship opportunities through the Sanilac County Community Foundation, contact Joshua Robinson, Executive Director, at the Foundation office at 810-648-3634.
