The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce this year’s 2018 Brown City High School graduate, Avery Earl as the recipient of the David Chmielewski “Mr. C” Scholarship.
During high school Avery played varsity soccer, and was a member of the marching and concert band. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and Youth Advisory Council, as well as many other organizations. In the fall, she plans to attend Oakland University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Avery is the daughter of Steve and Laurie Earl.
This scholarship was established to honor the memory of David Chmielewski “Mr. C” who was a teacher at Brown City. Eligible students will be attending college (either community college or a 4-year university) to study in a science field and/or agriculture. They will possess a GPA of 3.0 or greater and demonstrate work ethic, volunteerism, and community service.
