The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Seth Hurley is this years recipient of the James Mitchell Memorial Scholarship.
Seth is the son of John and Debbie Hurley. He is a 2018 graduate of Carsonville Port Sanilac High School. Seth has been in varsity football and track for four years and varsity basketball for two. He also has been going to the Sanilac Career Center for two years in the Engineering and Design program. Seth plans to attend Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis, Indiana this fall for Diesel Mechanics.
The James Mitchell Memorial Scholarship was established in 1999 in his memory by his father, Max Mitchell. James died in an accident on M46 near the current location of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School at graduation time in 1974. The scholarship provides financial assistance to a CPS graduating senior planning to pursue a career in a vocation or trade.
