Abbey C. Shell is a 2017 graduate of Peck High School and has been selected as this year’s recipient for the Kenneth Alexander Memorial Scholarship. She will be attending St. Clair County Community College in the fall and plans to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. Abbey was the captain of the volleyball and softball teams and also she was a member of the National Honor Society, Youth Advisory Council (YAC), Lunch Buddies and Class Treasurer. Abbey is the daughter of Gregory and Christine Shell.
The Kenneth Alexander Memorial Scholarship was established through Mr. Alexander’s estate and is available to an eligible senior on the Peck High School girls’ softball team to be used to help defray the expenses of college or other post high school education.
The recipient of the scholarship is chosen by the superintendent, principal and girls’ softball coach of Peck High School and is awarded on the basis of athletic and academic achievement, and financial need.
