The Sanilac County Community Foundation announces that Alexandra Herrington and Lillian Lentz, graduates of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School have been selected as the 2018 recipients of the Eleanor M. Bowman Scholarship Fund.
Alexandra is the daughter of Louis Herrington III and Michelle & Matt Warren. She has been a member of the Science Academic Team, National Honor Society, for which she is the current Treasurer. She has been a member of the CPS Marching Band and Concert Band all 4 years, participating in Solo & Ensemble every year. She was selected to perform in the Sanilac County Honor Band her Junior and Senior year, Albion Honor Band her senior year and U of M, Flint Honor Band her sophomore, junior and senior years. Alexandra has received class awards in Math, Science, and History. She has been on the Honor Roll all four years, received an award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement (maintaining a GPA of 3.5-4.0), and Outstanding Attendance. She has been a showman of Sanilac County’s 4-H program with the llama and alpaca group and also showed dog and cat. This fall Alexandra plans to attend U of M, Flint to pursue a bachelors degree in Biology and pursue her career in Zoology.
Lillian is the daughter of Jeffrey Lentz and Lori Lentz. She was named a senior scholar from CPS High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society as well as the CPS Volleyball and Equestrian Teams. She plans to attend Baker College of Clinton Township this fall to pursue an associates degree in Dental Hygiene.
Eligible applicants for the Eleanor M. Bowman scholarship must be graduating seniors of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School who are in need of financial assistance to attend college in the field of music or music education. If there are no graduating students entering the field of music or music education, the scholarship may then be given to a graduating student(s) with need of financial assistance.
