MacKenzie Kelly, a 2015 graduate of Marlette High School, is the recipient of the Isaac “Ike” Selick Law Enforcement Scholarship. MacKenzie is the daughter of Kirk and Marty Kelly. She participated in Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Basketball, Varsity Soccer, National Honor Society and Student Council. MacKenzie plans to attend Lake Superior State University to study Criminalistics, Criminal Justice and Natural Resources.
The Isaac “Ike” Selick Law Enforcement Scholarship was established in 2000 in Ike’s memory by his family to give students who are pursuing a career in law enforcement the chance to achieve their dreams. Ike Selick retired as a Detective Sergeant with the Detroit Police Department and would be pleased to know that, in his memory, each year a high school graduate receives this scholarship to pursue a career in law enforcement.
The scholarship is administered through the Sanilac County Community Foundation. For more information on scholarship opportunities through the Sanilac County Community Foundation, contact Melissa Anderson, Executive Director, at the Foundation office at 810-648-3634.
