The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the Alexander Memorial Scholarship recipients; graduates of Peck High School are Patricia McLarty and Leah Engler.
Patricia McLarty is the daughter of William and Deborah McLarty. She will be attending Northern Michigan University to begin working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Throughout her time at Peck High School she has participated in a lot of extra-curricular activities including Softball, Basketball, Track, Cross Country, Volleyball, National Honors Society, Student Council, Drama Club, and Quiz Bowl. Patricia’s ultimate goal is to achieve a Master’s Degree in Psychology.
Leah Engler plans to attend Grace College in Indiana. Her activities during high school included Basketball, Softball, Volleyball, Track, Cross Country, Band, National Honors Society President, Class Officer, and Student Council. Leah was a member of the Sanilac FFA and chapter secretary. She has been very involved with 4-H for 13 years and with her church youth group, vacation bible school leader, and mission trips.
The Kenneth Alexander Memorial Scholarship was established through Mr. Alexander’s estate and is available to an eligible senior on the Peck High School girls’ softball team to be used to help defray the expenses of college or other post high school education.
