The Sanilac County Community Foundation, on behalf of the Farr family, is pleased to announce that the recipient of the Corey William Farr Scholarship is Haley Matthews.
Haley is the daughter of Steve and Tina Matthews of Avoca. She is a graduate of Croswell Lexington High School. Haley played softball and basketball all four years of High School. She was also a part of Student Council, Executive Board, National Honors Society, Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.), and Conservation Club. Haley was captain for the varsity softball team both junior and senior year, and secretary for the conservation club. This fall, Haley will continue both her education and softball career at St. Clair County Community College, where she will be studying criminal justice, then transferring to Ferris State University.
This scholarship was established in 2017 by Corey’s Family. The scholarship is intended for a graduating Croswell-Lexington Senior. Preference shall be given to those maintaining C or better grade point average, involved in soccer, baseball, or hockey, scholastic potential, community service, and financial need may also be considered.
