The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Savannah Goddeeris, graduate of Brown City High School is the 2019 recipient of the David Chmielewski “Mr. C” Scholarship.
Savannah is the daughter of Mark and Kathy Goddeeris of Imlay City. Throughout high school, she was a member of the Brown City Band and the drum major for the marching and pep bands the last two years. Savannah also participated in cross country all four years, qualifying for the state meet each year and placing all state her senior year. She has participated in on the varsity track team for three years, qualifying for state two years. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is also the secretary. Savannah is the class student council representative. She also enjoys running and horses. She plans to attend Suffolk University of Boston in the fall.
This scholarship was established to honor the memory of David Chmielewski “Mr. C” who was a teacher at Brown City. Eligible students will be attending college (either community college or a 4-year university) to study in a science field and/or agriculture. They will possess a GPA of 3.0 or greater and demonstrate work ethic, volunteerism, and community service.
