The Sanilac County Community Foundation (SCCF) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Spring Grant round, offering up to $5,000 in funding per organization to support initiatives that address local needs and improve quality of life within Sanilac County. Applications may be submitted for over $5,000 but will be required to provide additional financial information.
Any 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, unit of government, educational institution, or certain faith-based organizations serving Sanilac County are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted by May 1, 2026, at 5:00pm. Full details and link to the application portal are available at www.SanilacFoundation.org/Grants.
The Spring Grant round is funded through a group of permanently endowed funds, established by local donors, who recognized the importance of long-term sustainability and access to opportunity. These endowed funds ensure that critical resources will be available to Sanilac County’s nonprofits not just today, but for generations to come. Gap funding may also be available through SCCF’s non-endowed funds, though it is not guaranteed.
Permanently Endowed Funds participating in the SCCF 2026 Spring Grant Round are:
- Community Endowment Fund
- Youth-Kellogg Fund
- Healthy Youth & Seniors Fund
- Replogle Fund for the Community
- Replogle Fund for the Youth
All applications will be reviewed by a grant review committee consisting of local Sanilac County residents. Additionally, the Community Foundation empowers our youth by allowing the Youth Advisory Council, a youth program consisting of 56 high school students from across Sanilac County, to review grant applications and award real dollars to causes impacting the youth.
“Unrestricted grants allow us to respond to needs as they arise, meeting real challenges in real time, while honoring the foresight of donors who chose to leave resources in the hands of the next generation and trusting they will use them where they matter most,” said Joshua Robinson, Executive Director of the Sanilac County Community Foundation. “While these grants may not be large in comparison, they are a meaningful reflection of those who planted trees in Sanilac County, knowing they may never sit in their shade.”
