The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Peck graduates Ava Collins, Sawyer Kerr, Kendra Kosal, Olivia Saldana and Lia Schemanske as recipients of the 2025 Frank L. and Violet Hannan Scholarship.
Ava Collins is the daughter of Aaron and Stephanie Collins. During high school, she played softball, volleyball and basketball. She served as treasurer for both the National Honor Society and her class and was also a member of Student Council. Ava is attending St. Clair County Community College studying General Education.
Sawyer Kerr is the daughter of Bill and Leann Kerr. In high school, she was involved in National Honor Society, Youth Advisory Council, Student Council, volleyball, and basketball. Sawyer is attending Paul Mitchell the School Great Lakes to obtain her cosmetology license.
Kendra Kosal is the daughter of Jeff and Erica Kosal. During high school, Kendra was the National Honor Society President, Class President, Youth Advisory Council Secretary, and Student Council Social Media Manager. She also played basketball, softball, and volleyball where she served as team captain. In the winter, she played volleyball for the Huron County Mavericks AAU team. Kendra attended the Sanilac Career Center in the Graphic Communications program where she received “Outstanding Student” and “Community Service” awards for her hard work and dedication to the program. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, drawing, and photography. Kendra is attending St. Clair County Community College pursuing an associates degree in Science to become a Physical Therapist/Athletic Trainer while also playing volleyball for the school.
Olivia Saldana is the daughter of Corina Saldana. During high school, she was involved in cheerleading, track, volleyball and Student Council. Olivia is attending Grand Valley State University pursuing a degree in Social Work.
Lia Schemanske is the daughter of Jessica Royle and James Schemanske. During high school, she played volleyball and basketball, spending most of her free time with her friends and teammates. She was also a member of Student Council and National Honor Society where she served as the secretary. Lia is attending St. Clair County Community College with plans to enter into their Radiologic Technology Program. 
The Frank L. and Violet Hannan Scholarship was established through a gift from the estate of Frank L. and Violet Hannan who were farmers in the community. It is awarded to Peck students who attended Peck High school for both their Junior and Senior years. Students entering their second year of college are also eligible.
