The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Morgan Stillson, Mary Carver, Madison Greenaway, Brynn Hurley, and Brooklyn Murray as the 2025 recipients of the Diane Wendt Scholarship.
Morgan Stillson, daughter of Kevin and Amie Stillson, is a graduate of Croswell-Lexington High School. During high school she spent most of her time with her theatre company Cros-Lex Theatre Co., receiving many awards and holding the positions of Vice President, Student Director and helping teach vocals during her senior year. Morgan is attending Eastern Michigan University to double major in Musical Theatre as well as Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavioral Analysis.
Mary Carver, daughter of Marlo Ellis, is a graduate of Croswell-Lexington High School and credits her mom as her biggest source of support throughout her life. Mary participated in band for a total of seven years, including four years in the high school marching band as a percussionist and tenor drum player. She loved every moment of her band experience and the memories it created and is excited to continue her involvement in band in college. Mary is attending Saginaw Valley State University, where she is majoring in Business Management with a minor in Entrepreneurship.
Madison Greenaway, daughter of Clayton and Semone Greenaway, is a graduate of Croswell-Lexington High School. Throughout all four years of high school, she was a varsity sideline and competitive cheerleader, helping her team earn two MHSAA State Championships, one MHSAA Regional Championship, and two MHSAA District Championships. Madison will continue cheering as part of the Michigan State University All-Girl STUNT and Competitive Cheer Team while pursuing a degree in Kinesiology.
Brynn Hurley, daughter of Rhett and Barb Hurley, is a graduate of Croswell-Lexington High School. She was a member of the cross country and track teams throughout high school, earning a varsity position, serving as captain of both teams, and receiving numerous awards and honors. Brynn is attending St. Clair County Community College to pursue an Associate of Science degree while competing for their cross country and track teams.
Brooklyn Murray, oldest daughter of Lucas Robbins and Jaqueline Murray, graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School as a Senior Scholar. In high school, she was involved in Student Council and National Honor Society, holding leadership positions in both clubs for two years, and completing over 100 volunteer hours. She also dedicates her time to volunteering at the Sanilac County Humane Society and encourages others to get involved, sharing that they have many adorable dogs and cats in need of loving homes. She is attending Michigan State University, where she is majoring in Human Biology on a Pre-PA pathway.
The Diane Wendt Scholarship was established to support and encourage graduating seniors at Croswell-Lexington High School in their pursuit of post-secondary education. This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding achievements in Art, Music, Sports, Science, and Academics and aims to ease the financial burden of furthering their education.
