The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Nolan Reinowski as one of the 2024 recipients of the Gordon Pabst Scholarship.

Nolan is the son of Caran Jo and Gerald A. Reinowski and a graduate of Croswell-Lexington High School, graduating in the top 10 of his class with a 4.24 cumulative GPA.  During high school, Nolan was enrolled in four advanced placement classes while also completing dual enrollment courses at St. Clair County Community College. He earned varsity letters in football, basketball, and powerlifting, and more than ten academic and athletic honors. Nolan was also a member of the National Honor Society. Along with his rigorous academic and athletic schedule, Nolan worked as a cook at the Lexington A&W on the weekends and during summers. Nolan is attending Saginaw Valley State University pursuing a bachelor’s degree. His undergraduate focus will be on K-12 Physical Education/Health and Secondary Mathematics with hopes to one day become a high school math teacher at a local school district. Nolan credits his success to the positive influence of his family, friends, teachers, and coaches.

The Gordon Pabst Scholarship Fund was established by Mr. Gordon Pabst, a life-long resident of Marlette, who dedicated his life to education working 28 years as an elementary teacher in the Marlette School System. It is awarded to graduating Sanilac County seniors planning to pursue a teaching degree from an accredited university. Preference is given to students from Marlette Community Schools.
