The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the recipient of the James T. Whitfield Scholarship is Austin Fink, a 2019 graduate of Croswell-Lexington Schools.
Austin is a college student striving to achieve his goals. He has an associate’s degree in science and liberal arts from St. Clair County Community College. He worked at a local store for some time in his town and had a manager position. That would cover most aspects of the store that he worked in which would include him doing updates to the website, training new employees, and overall maintaining the store. Austin is working on job shadowing to get a better understanding of what expectations would be needed to know and learn for the future, while also preparing to go to Michigan State University to study the Engineering Field.
The James T. Whitfield scholarship was established through a generous gift from the Whitfield Trust. The purpose of the fund is to provide a scholarship to a deserving graduating senior from Croswell-Lexington Schools who is planning to study engineering.
This scholarship is administered through the Sanilac County Community Foundation. For more information on scholarship opportunities through the Sanilac County Community Foundation, contact Melissa Anderson, Executive Director, at the Foundation office at 810-648-3634.
