The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Nolan Lacey, graduate of Cros-Lex High School is the 2019 recipient of the Hewitt-Riley Scholarship.
Nolan is the son of Pete and Deb Lacey of Burtchville, Michigan. During high school Nolan ran cross country, played basketball and baseball. He also worked two jobs for all of his junior and senior years. Nolan received the principal’s award which is given to a student who works the hardest in and out of the classroom and is a strong representative of the school. Nolan plans to attend Saint Clair County Community College.
This scholarship was established in honor of Thomas Hewitt, a Croswell-Lexington High School Graduate, by his mother Mary Riley. The scholarship is made available to a Croswell-Lexington student with a C+ – B average who is planning to attend college. Special consideration will be given to those entering the field of agricultural studies.
