The Sanilac County Community Foundation announces that Chloe M. Collins graduate of Peck High School, is this year’s recipient of the Marvin Longuski Scholarship.
Chloe plans to attend Central Michigan University this fall to pursue her dream of becoming a photographer. In high school, she kept herself busy with activities such as President of the symphonic band, Vice President of her class and the Peck Chapter of the National Honor Society, Secretary of the Student Council, member of the reading faction, libero of the varsity volleyball team, captain of the varsity cheerleading squad, member of the varsity softball team and colorguard squad, and member of the yearbook club. Chole’s time in high school was made decidedly more difficult following the death of her 17 year old brother, Corbin, during her junior year. She worked tirelessly to finish her high school career strong and is very excited to continue her education at CMU.
The family of Marvin Longuski, long time educator, member of the Peck School Board and respected community leader, established this scholarship in cooperation with the Village of Peck, to honor his memory.
The scholarship is administered through the Sanilac County Community Foundation (SCCF). For more information on scholarship opportunities through the SCCF, contact Melissa Anderson, Executive Director, at the Foundation office at 810-648-3634.
