Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce, Luke Reehl is the recipient to receive the Robert Kenneth & Janette Grace Knight Scholarship.
Marlette High School Valedictorian, Luke Reehl is the son of Mark and Suzanne Reehl of Decker. Luke is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Youth Advisory Council, and has been on the Math Academic Games Team for the past three years serving as co-captain his senior year. He participated in Cardboard City for the past three years. He is a past member of the Baseball team and Quiz Bowl team. He has earned his academic letter, pin, and plaque and has also received classroom awards in Art, Technology II, U.S. History, English 9, English 10, Honors English, English 150, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Physics. He was named to the Sanilac County Academic First Team as well as the Greater Thumb Academic East First Team. He was selected to participate in the Mid-Michigan’s Best and Brightest Program. Luke is an active member of the Lamotte Missionary Church and youth group. He was also part of a short-term mission trip to Mexico. Luke plans to attend Ferris State University. He has been awarded the Founder’s Scholarship and has been admitted to the Honors Program. He is planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Product Design Engineering.
The Robert Kenneth & Janette Grace Knight Estate left the Marlette Community Schools a very generous gift to provide scholarship grants to deserving graduates of Marlette High School who desire to further their education. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Knight will be remembered for their concern for the future of the youth of Marlette.
