Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce this years 2017 Sandusky High School graduates, Madison Armstrong and Carolynn Caporuscio as the recipients of the David W. and Judith A. Albrecht Scholarship.
Madison plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University where she will study Occupational Therapy. She has been a member of the National Honors Society, Student Council and has participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, Food for Friends, Toys for Kids, and the Flags of Remembrance Project. Madison’s parents are Bob and Kris Armstrong.
Carolynn is the daughter of Mike and Tammy Caporuscio. She plans to attend Eastern Michigan University in the fall to pursue a degree in nursing with the hopes of working in surgery or oncology. Carolynn participated in cheerleading, wrestling, track, band, National Honors Society, drama, academic games, Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) and The Michigan Youth Leadership Conference (MYLead).
Dave Albrecht, a 1966 graduate of SHS, was a successful businessman for over 30 years, a community volunteer, active in his church, very involved with his family, and a loyal Redskin fan. Judy was a long time teacher in Sandusky and still remains involved in the community. This scholarship was established in Dave’s memory to annually assist graduating seniors from SHS. Those selected exemplify the characteristics of leadership, community service and school spirit while planning to further their education.
