The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Cooper Brown as the 2026 recipient of the American Legion / Andrew Light Scholarship.
Cooper Brown, son of Dana Lamont and Corey Brown, is a graduate of Croswell-Lexington High School. He is also the stepson of Sara Brown and Aaron Lamont. During high school, Cooper participated in Solo & Ensemble twice, 12 Honors Bands, and received the John Philip Sousa Band Award his senior year. He is attending Michigan State University’s College of Music, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Music Education while playing the bassoon.
The American Legion / Andrew Light Scholarship is supported by American Legion Post No. 255 of Croswell in honor of Andrew Light. It is awarded to students who have been enrolled in one of the industrial and/or fine arts classes at Croswell-Lexington High School.
