The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Olivia Parr, Taylor DeLeon, Riley Sheldon, Ryleigh Ureel, and Blake Arbaugh as the 2025 recipients of the Thumb Bank and Trust Scholarship.
Olivia Parr, daughter of Melinda and Scott Parr, graduated from Brown City High School. During high school, she was involved in volleyball, basketball, and softball, National Honor Society and has dedicated many hours to volunteer service. Olivia is attending Mid Michigan College pursuing a degree in Liberal Studies while playing softball.
Taylor DeLeon, daughter of Tony and Danielle DeLeon, is a graduate of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School. During high school, she was involved in theatre, band, National Honor Society, and Student Council, where she held leadership positions. She also participated in robotics, quiz bowl, bowling, and track. Taylor is attending the University of Michigan pursuing a degree in Biology, Health, and Science with the goal of entering the health field.
Riley Sheldon, son of Alan Sheldon and Debrajo Stone, graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School. He has spent his life dedicated to wrestling and also played soccer during his high school years. Riley enjoys the little moments and tries to take his time appreciating the small things in life. He is attending Michigan State University, where he plans to study Finance. Go Green!
Ryleigh Ureel, daughter of Ron and Heidi Ureel, graduated as Valedictorian of the Peck High School Class of 2025. During high school, Ryleigh participated in volleyball, basketball, track and field, and softball – holding the position of captain of while earning all-state honors. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. Ryleigh is attending St. Clair County Community College, where she will earn her associate’s degree while continuing to play softball.
Blake Arbaugh, son of Tom and Shannon Arbaugh, is a graduate of Sandusky High School. During high school, he was active in National Honor Society, played baseball and enjoys golfing in his free time. Blake is attending Saginaw Valley State University majoring in business.
The Thumb Bank & Trust Scholarship is provided by Thumb Bank & Trust in support of our county’s graduates. Preference is given to eligible students pursuing Finance, Accounting, or a degree in a related field.
