The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Nicholas Caldwell as the 2025 recipient of the Sacred Heart Church Women’s Auxiliary Scholarship.

Nicholas Caldwell, son of Laura Vargo-Caldwell and Michael William Caldwell, graduated from North Branch High School. Nicholas extends sincere recognition to his parents and his sister, Claire Constance Caldwell, acknowledging their support and guidance, without which his achievements would not have been possible. During high school, he was involved in concert band, marching band, jazz band, and the drama club’s pit orchestra. He participated in pickleball club, varsity bowling, the junior varsity golf team, men’s volleyball club, and was on Marlette’s trap team. Nicholas was also a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, College Ambassador Club, was a class officer for four years and held the position of Class President. Additionally, he was in gardening club and community club. Nicholas is attending Michigan Technological University pursuing an Applied Ecology and Environmental Science degree.

The Sacred Heart Church Women’s Auxiliary Scholarship was established to recognize a graduating high school senior from one of the donor churches (Brown City Sacred Heart, North Branch Saint Peter, Clifford Saint Patrick, or Burnside Saint Mary) who are an active member of their community and have maintained a minimum GPA of 2.5.
