The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Emma DesJardins as the 2025 recipient of the Shelby Sanderson Combs Scholarship.

Emma DesJardins, daughter of Debbie and Randy DesJardins, graduated from Sandusky High School. During high school, she participated in cheerleading and was a member of Student Council. Emma completed a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Phlebotomy Technician Program through the Sanilac Career Center Health Occupations Program, which led to her earning a full-time CNA position while still in high school. She also completed multiple dual-enrollment courses through St. Clair County Community College. Emma is attending Albion College, where she is studying under a pre-medicine track with a major in Biochemistry and a minor in Cellular and Molecular Biology.

The Shelby Sanderson Combs Scholarship was established to support deserving Sandusky High School seniors who plan to attend a Christian Church-supported college or university. Preference given to students planning to attend Spring Arbor University.
