The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Savannah Hart as the 2025 recipient of the James Mitchell Scholarship.
Savannah Hart, daughter of Stephen Hart and Kristy Swanson, graduated from Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School. During high school, she was involved in National Honor Society, Student Council, volleyball, basketball, and softball. Savannah is attending Bayshire Beauty Academy pursuing Cosmetology.
The James Mitchell Scholarship was established in 1999 in James’ memory by his father, Max Mitchell. James was killed in an accident near Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School at graduation time in 1974. The scholarship is awarded to a CPS graduating senior planning to pursue a career in a vocation or trade.
