The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Savannah Spiegel as the 2024 recipient of the Barbara Wolfe Magenheim Scholarship.
Savannah is the daughter of Joe and Tammy Spiegel and a graduate of Peck High School. During high school, Savannah was a member of the band- playing the clarinet for 6 years, and also participated in solo ensemble many times where she qualified for States. Savannah was nominated for Honors Band multiple times, was on the Quiz Bowl team for two years, and was the Secretary of the National Honor Society. She participated in volleyball and cheerleading, and attended Health Occupations at the Sanilac Career Center where she earned her CNA license. During high school, Savanna worked part time at both Auntie Em’s Daycare through the school and the Sanilac Medical Care Facility. She is attending St. Clair County Community College pursuing a career as a Nurse with plans to be either an ER or Traveling Nurse.
The Barbara Wolfe Magenheim Scholarship was established to commemorate the accomplishments of Dr. Barbara Wolfe Magenheim and her love of education and the field of Nursing. This scholarship is awarded to Sanilac County graduating seniors who have a 3.0 GPA or greater and are pursuing a career in healthcare. Preference is given to graduating seniors of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School.
