The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Emily Newland as one of the 2024 recipients of the Cheryl Thomas Memorial Scholarship.
Emily is the daughter of Gary and Kerri Newland and a graduate of Marlette High School. She was involved in YAC (Youth Advisory Council), National Honor Society, Varsity Softball, Varsity Basketball, and Student Council. She also accumulated numerous volunteer hours. Emily is attending Central Michigan University pursuing a bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a minor in Leadership.
The Cheryl Thomas Memorial Scholarship is available to graduating seniors of Marlette High School that have participated in sports.
