Grant Making Guidelines
Eligible Applicants:
- 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations
- All units of government
- All educational institutions
- Faith-based organizations*
These organizations MUST:
- Serve Sanilac County AND
- Not discriminate in hiring of staff or provision of services
*Proposals from faith-based organizations MUST:
- Address Sanilac County community needs AND
- Have a clearly demonstrated public benefit AND
- Be fully accessible to all people regardless of religious belief and lifestyle choices AND
- May NOT proselytize (i.e. require anything in return for services provided)
Grant Application Procedures
Carefully read the following documents to assist in your application process:
*Upon submission, this application and accompanying materials become the property of the SCCF and will be used as deemed appropriate by the Community Foundation. They may be reviewed with community planning agencies and other individuals and organizations as the SCCF assesses the project and its potential significance. The information may also be shared with other foundations and funding sources that call upon us for information about community projects.
Please Note
Funds are awarded in June and December. Deadlines for applications are MAY 1 for the SPRING AWARDS and NOVEMBER 1 for the FALL AWARDS.
