The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Carley Olinger as the 2025 recipient of the Dr. R. K. Hart / American Legion Scholarship.
Carley Olinger, daughter of Sam and Shelly Olinger, graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School. During high school, she played percussion in marching and symphonic band and performed in two productions with the Cros-Lex Theatre Company. She was also a member of National Honor Society, played softball, and was involved in Girl Scouts. While in high school, Carley attended St. Clair County Community College where she received an Associate in Arts, an Associate in General Education, and a certificate in Digital Marketing. Carley is attending Saginaw Valley State University majoring in Communication with a double minor in Professional and Technical Writing and Sociology. After college, she hopes to have a career in Sports Media and Public Relations with a professional hockey team.
The Dr. R. K. Hart / American Legion Scholarship was established to benefit deserving graduating seniors of Croswell-Lexington High School. Candidates must have been enrolled in one of the industrial arts and/or fine arts classes during their high school career and must be accepted to and attend a post-secondary education institution for at least half-time.
