The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Leah Engler, Rylee French and Kyle Vincent graduates from Peck High School, are the 2021 recipients of the Frank L. and Violet Hannan Scholarship and Samantha Bissett and Emma Enger are the additional recipients for 2020.

 

Leah Engler is a graduate of Peck High School.  She is the daughter of Luke and Sandra Engler.  Leah plans to attend Grace College in Indiana. Her activities during high school included Basketball, Softball, Volleyball, Track, Cross Country, Band, National Honors Society President, Class Officer, and Student Council. Leah was a member of the Sanilac FFA and chapter secretary. She has been very involved with 4-H for 13 years and with her church youth group, vacation bible school leader, and mission trips.

Rylee was the 2021 Valedictorian at Peck High School. During graduation ceremony she was awarded the citizenship award, sportsmanship award, and dedicated athlete award. During her high school career, she was a three-sport athlete (volleyball, basketball, and track). Rylee held the role as Captain of the volleyball team in 2021. Awards received; coaches award for volleyball, academic awards for Core Classes throughout her high school career. She was active in the high school band, enjoyed being a part of the drama club and community service was a big part of her high school career (Adopt-A-Highway, PHS Backpack program, shop with a hero, bingo with senior citizens at Medilodge, Yale, Sanilac County Senior Prom, Sanilac county Senior Fair, Concessions at Peck sporting events, Llink Technologies Adopt-A-Fanily Program, Food Bank (Melvin United Methodist Church). Rylee will be attending Saginaw Valley State University.

Kyle is the son of Mark and Paula Vincent of Croswell. He is a 2021 graduate of Peck High School. During high school he played varsity track, basketball, football, and competed in Academic Games. Kyle plans to pursue an Associates degree in HVAC Service Technology while attending Delta College.

The recipients of the scholarship are awarded on the basis of being a Peck Community Schools for at least their full Junior & Senior years. A person of good moral character. Must be, or plan to be, a full-time post-secondary student and submit a copy of official transcript. Agriculture, business, farming, vocational, technical, commercial, business, medical, nursing, and education fields of study are eligible.
