The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Zachary Franzel, graduate of Sandusky High School, has been named the 2021 recipient of the Kevin M. Pearce Memorial Scholarship.

Zachary is the son of Tim and Mande Franzel.  During high school, he participated in many activities; sports, volunteering, and academic games. Zachary also enjoys spending time outside, hunting and fishing with friends and family. He plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University to major in Electrical Engineering.

The Kevin Pearce Scholarship was established in 2001 in Kevin’s memory by his family to give students a chance to achieve, and to inspire the generations to follow.  Kevin, a 1985 graduate of Sandusky High School, passed away on January 24 of 2001.  He is remembered as an incredible person and friend who always “set the bar” higher for himself and always inspired others to achieve.

This scholarship is administered through the Sanilac County Community Foundation.  For more information on scholarship opportunities through the Sanilac County Community Foundation, contact Melissa Anderson, Executive Director, at the Foundation office at 810-648-3634.
