The Sanilac County Community Foundation announces that Morgan Winiarski and Claire Rutkofske are the recipients of the John Wilder Memorial Scholarship for 2019.

Morgan is the daughter of Mark Winiarski and Teresa Winiarski.  She is a Peck High School graduate with a 3.97 GPA.  While in high school, she was a three sport athlete, participating in volleyball, basketball, and softball.  She was also a member of National Honor Society and Health Occupations Students of America.  Her volunteer service included: local blood and food drives, Senior Summer Olympics, Clothing Closet, Walk for Warmth, and Senior Citizen Prom.  Morgan plans to attend Delta College to study Diagnostic Sonography.

 

 

Claire is the daughter of Robert and Pauline Rutkofske of Avoca.  She is a Yale High School graduate. Claire enjoyed playing soccer and being captain for three years during her four of playing.  She loved to show 4-H at the St. Clair County fair which she participated in for 12 years while being the president of her club for four years. Claire plans to attend Central Michigan University, studying Secondary Education as a major with minors in Leadership and Event Management.

The John Wilder Memorial Scholarship was established by John’s family in his memory in 2010.  It is available to eligible graduating student athletes at Peck and Yale High Schools.
