McKenzie Wilhelmsen, is the daughter of David and Lisa Wilhelmsen of Marlette.  She participated in Student Council, Technology Academic Games, Outdoors Club, Business Professionals of America, the Red Raider Mall, and is active at the Marlette Second Presbyterian Church.  She also participated in cross country, softball, and track.  McKenzie plans to attend Lansing Community College this fall to pursue a degree in Elementary Education and continue her softball career as a Star.

The Edward & Viviene Huntoon Memorial Scholarship was originally established in 2009 in memory of Edward, and this year, the scholarship was extended to also commemorate the life of his wife Viviene. The Huntoons were married May 24, 1947 and Marlette quickly became their home.

Mr. Huntoon was an active businessman in the Marlette area, Viviene was a member of the United Methodist Church, and they were always committed to the importance of education. Their family is happy to be able to support Marlette students in their effort to attain a college degree with this one-thousand-dollar scholarship.

This scholarship is administered through the Sanilac County Community Foundation (SCCF).  For more information on scholarship opportunities through the SCCF, contact Melissa Anderson, Executive Director, at the Foundation office at 810-648-3634.

For Good. For Ever.
