The Sanilac County Community Foundation announces that Jonathan C. Louwsma, 2017 graduate of Imlay City High School, is this year’s recipient of the Carol A. Crake Scholarship.

Jonathan is the son of Christina Louwsma. During high school, he was actively involved in school activities and sports.  Jonathan played many sports including track, wrestling, basketball, soccer, and cross country.  He also served as a member of class council and student council.  Outside of school, Jonathan is involved with his church and youth group.  He also enjoys spending time with his family.  They like to go for walks and bike rides together.  Jonathan has three siblings and they always have something fun to do.  This fall Jonathan plans to attend Calvin College to pursue his education to become a Registered Nurse.

The Carol A. Crake Scholarship Fund was established in 2007, and is available to eligible graduates of Brown City, Imlay City or North Branch High Schools who are already accepted to a 2 or 4 year college or university.

This scholarship is administered through the Sanilac County Community Foundation (SCCF).  For more information on scholarship opportunities through the Sanilac County Community Foundation, contact Melissa Anderson, Executive Director, at the Foundation office at 810-648-3634.
