The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Christian Falls is this years recipient of the James Mitchell Memorial Scholarship.

Christian is the son of Christopher and Nicole Falls of Port Sanilac.  He is a 2017 graduate of Carsonville Port Sanilac High School.  Christian is a four year member of the Youth Advisory Council (YAC).  He has been involved in Cardboard City, Project Connect, community cleanup crew and food drives.  He is also a three year student representative for the Port Sanilac Parks and Recreation Committee.  Christian has been active in numerous Varsity athletics including Varsity Basketball, Football, Baseball and Track.  He will be attending Saginaw Valley State University this fall.

The James Mitchell Memorial Scholarship was established in 1999 in his memory by his father, Max Mitchell. James died in an accident on M46 near the current location of Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School at graduation time in 1974.  The scholarship provides financial assistance to a CPS graduating senior planning to pursue a career in a vocation or trade.
