This year, over $90,000 in scholarships are available for Sanilac County graduating seniors. These funds will be granted to deserving students to fulfill their educational dreams thanks, in part, to the donors of the Sanilac County Community Foundation.

The Community Foundation has more than 65 scholarship funds, established by donors who are committed to education, and often named in the memory of a loved one.  The organization has awarded more than $1 million dollars in scholarship grants since 1994, and helped over 1,500 students.

Students are evaluated by an advisory committee of board members and community volunteers based on a written application, which is fully accessible online. Individual scholarships range in amounts from $200 to $20,000 this year and are awarded to students from all area high schools.

“As the cost of college continues to rise, so does the need of many students,” said Melissa Anderson, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “It is through the generosity of our donors that these needs can be met. Our scholarship program is a wonderful way to empower local youth and show them the impact of philanthropy.”

Applications are due April 1, 2017 via our online application found at: www.sanilacfoundtion.org/grants-and-scholarships
