2016 MARVIN LONGUSKI SCHOLARSHIP

The Sanilac County Community Foundation announces that Nicholas Grifka, graduate of Peck High School, is this year’s recipient of the Marvin Longuski Scholarship.

Grifka, Nicholas - Longuski, photoNicholas is the son of Brian and Wanda Grifka.  He was a member of the Basketball team and captain his varsity year.  Nicholas also ran track and was a member of the National Honor Society, a lunch buddy mentor, and an 8 year member of the Peck Band.  He is a member and officer of the Sanilac FFA, member of the National Dairy Judging Team, which took 7th place at Nationals.  Nicholas volunteers with the Peck Lions Club.  He is currently the President of the Flynn Hustlers 4-H Club.  This fall Nicholas plans to attend Michigan State University to pursue a degree in Dairy Management.

The family of Marvin Longuski, long time educator, member of the Peck School Board and respected community leader, established this scholarship in cooperation with the Village of Peck, to honor his memory.
